Long day!

Started, early, breakfast at home and then out for the day. We took the Tube to Kensington, saw the palace, walked along a park and came to the Churchill War Rooms, which are really quite awesome. Many people were stashed down there during the war, breaking codes and mapping strategy.

Then, onto Covent Garden (somewhat of a mistake— very much like Faneuil Hall!) for lunch, and then onto Regents Park— playground and paddle boating for the kids, book for Jake, and Lisa and I broke off and went to Daunt Books— which is AMAZING. It is huge, crazily well curated, and save for English, American and Canadian literature, everything else is divided by country.

Which, is actually how Jake and I have our books organized at home, and have since we moved in together— so it was particularly wonderful. I got a totebag for being a fellow bookseller :)

We picked up Jake and the girls, went to Boots for some supplies (shaving cream, shampoo) and then home— Udderlicious for ice cream for the girls, and then everyone played until dinner (light dinner for the kids post-ice cream) and the four grown ups went to Ottolenghi— which was delicious.

Home now, taking care of business, girls have split up for sleepovers. Leilani and Alice are singing and choreographing something in their room…

Hope all is well in NYC!
